Next Project

There were issues with my installation being the first in the province, relating to the NB electrical code and NBPower installation regulations different from the other provinces. This was resolved by Shift in a professional manner and resolved to all parties satisfaction. When this problem came to light Shift immediately put a Senior Director on the issue who kept me informed while the issue was sorted to all parties satisfaction. My system is producing power and successfully connected to the NB Power net metering system. The use of Micro-inverters allows me to see individual panels present/daily/weekly/monthly production on line.

The entire experience at shift was quite remarkable. I'm a tradesman that is extremely apprehensive about others doing work on my house but I was very impressed with the install crew. They got it done in a day on a rainy day too and it looks awesome, conduit nicely run, panels properly spaced, nothing exposed to the elements that doesn't need to be (oh ya I really inspected your teams handy work). They handled all the registration with hydro and helped me navigate my portion of the registration for net metering. By far the best thing about them was that they gave me no reason not to install panels. The grant and the interest free loan application were super helpful and I had no idea those existed until they told me about it. It's remarkable how much I am going to save in the next decade and it's because they had an answer for every concern I had. They have a 25 year warranty too so I hope you guys are around still. That was my biggest risk in my mind.

The change to solar seemed scary and daunting at first but the guys at Shift made the upgrade painless and exciting. We choose to go with Shift because of great word of mouth, the quality of their work I'd seen in the field, expertise and of course competitive pricing. Our family decided to make the switch to solar because we purchased an electric car and were getting fed up with rising hydro costs. Our hydro bill has almost doubled in 10 years and we are sick and tired of being robbed by BC Hydro. The whole process was quick and seamless, we were only out of power for a couple hours. Tim did an excellent job of explaining the system to us and going over power generation estimates. The installation team were great too, nice guys and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend getting solar installed to anyone interested. My only regret is that we didn't make the switch sooner.
