A recent collaboration between the city of Victoria, UVIC, and UBC has produced a free-to-use online tool that will show home and business owners what their rooftop solar production potential is. The tool functions as an ariel view heat map that will show your roof’s potential to produce energy in kilowatt-hours (kWh) on a scale from 0 to 1150 kWh. Victoria is one of the best spots in BC in regards to rooftops being suitable for solar. You’ll see on the tool that a large number of roofs are in the high potential range.
